Police said there was no evidence to suggest the fire had been started deliberately
Tributes have been paid to a six-year-old girl found dead with her father at a house in Telford following a fire.
Andrew Lineton, 33, and his daughter Kay-Leigh were found in a house in Briarwood, on the Brookside estate, in Telford, at about 2045 BST on Sunday.
Police said nobody else was found in the house and it was treating the deaths as unexplained.
Meg Thompson, head of William Reynolds Infants School, said: The whole school is in shock at this dreadful news."
'Terrible tragedy'
Ms Thompson added: "Kay-Leigh was a little star and everybody's friend. She loved school, she always tried really hard at her work and was always bright eyed and bubbly with a smile on her face.
"It really is a terrible tragedy to lose her so young."
Mr Lineton worked as a warehouse operative for Fruit of the Loom clothing retailer in Telford.
West Mercia Police officers forced their way into the house on Sunday and discovered evidence of an extensive kitchen fire.
A police spokesman said there was no evidence to suggest the fire had been started deliberately.
The fire service said the pair may have died from toxic gases caused by the fire, which began at the weekend but went unnoticed and burnt itself out.
Shropshire's coroner has been informed and post-mortem examinations are taking place.
