Volunteers working to bring a Shropshire arboretum back into use are hoping lottery funding and an open day will help.
Friends of the Coalbrookdale Arboretum have organised a Damson Day, which will be open to visitors on Saturday.
The arboretum is on Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust land, in Abraham Darby's old garden.
In the 18th Century, it contained a collection of specimen trees and a National Damson Collection.
The volunteers are applying for lottery money to do larger works such as repair paths and improve lighting.
Visitors to Damson Day can go on guided walks around the arboretum and have cream teas.
Abraham Darby I played a large role in the Industrial Revolution, inventing a new way of producing iron.
