Flood defences in Shrewsbury remain in place
A flood alert for the whole of the River Severn in Shropshire remains in place after further rain on Saturday.
The Environment Agency, external said flood defences in the Frankwell area, deployed on Thursday, were likely to stay up until next week, although the river level was now starting to fall.
Alerts also remain for the rivers Teme, Onny, Corve, Lugg and the confluence of the Severn and Vyrnwy near Maesbrook.
The Met Office has warned of gales and more heavy rain on Sunday.
It said the forecast was expected to remain unsettled into next week.
The Environment Agency said it was not anticipating further deployment of flood barriers, either at Frankwell or at Ironbridge, but would be monitoring the situation closely.
