Adam Fairbrass and Trevor Summers both changed their plea to guilty
Two men have been jailed for an armed robbery at a village post office in Suffolk.
Trevor Summers, 28, of South Ockendon, Essex, threatened staff at the Thelnetham Road branch in Hopton with a gun and a knife on 28 July 2010.
Summers and his driver Adam Fairbrass, 29, of Harold Wood, Essex, admitted conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
At Ipswich Crown Court they were each jailed for eight years each. Charges against two other people were dropped.
Speaking after the case, Suffolk Police said the getaway car was a distinctive maroon Toyota Previa which led officers to its owner, Fairbrass, who then lived in Walsham-le-Willows and was known to police.
He was arrested on 6 August 2010, along with Summers.
The men had been due to stand trial but changed their pleas to guilty and returned to court for sentencing.
Summers was brought from Chelmsford prison after being jailed for a separate offence.
Supt Louisa Pepper said CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts giving very good descriptions of the Toyota and its occupants were key to finding the men and bringing them to justice.
