Staff at a betting shop in Sussex have been threatened with a gun and forced to hand over cash during an armed raid.

One customer was in the premises in Islingwood Road, Brighton, when two men entered at about 2000 GMT on Monday.

The staff were forced to give them about £170 in cash but no-one was injured. Both robbers were described as white and wore hooded tops.

One man had a scarf over his face, while the other had the top zipped up to cover his mouth.

Police said one of the men was aged in his 30s, about 5ft 6in tall, with a local accent.

He was wearing a black hooded top and a black hat.

The second man, who was holding the gun, was aged in his mid 20s, about 5ft 9in to 5ft 11in tall and with a local accent.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, light blue jeans, white trainers, and had a dark scarf over his face.
