Graham Matthews was killed in 2004 when his bicycle was hit by a car
Work to finish a cycle path in Rye is under way after a 10-year campaign following a cyclist's death.
The family of Graham Matthews, 22, called for the path after he was hit and killed on Harbour Road in 2004.
Work began in 2006 but was halted in 2008 with East Sussex County Council blaming funding and land availability issues for the delays.
The route - which will be officially named Graham's Way - is expected to be completed by the end of September.
Councillor Keith Glazier said: "Very tragically, it took Graham's death to get something done here and sadly it's taken a lot longer than any one of of us would have wanted to see, but thankfully this is the final section and we can leave a lasting tribute to Graham."
