Hedgehog maternity unit delivers two litters
A wildlife charity has set up a hedgehog maternity unit in a shed in a bid to try to boost the numbers of one of Britain's most vulnerable wild animals.
The number of hedgehogs in the UK has fallen from an estimated 1.5 million in the 1990s to under 1 million today.
East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS) is caring for two female hedgehogs who gave birth to a litter each and another who is expected to give birth in the next couple of weeks.
They were rescued from Bexhill, Hailsham and Eastbourne.
South East Today's Claudia Sermbezis talked to Kathy Martyn from WRAS and Henry Jonson of Hedgehog Street campaign.
