Police believe the men used sledge hammers

Three men have smashed the wall of a cafe in Brighton and stolen a safe containing £45,000.

Police believe the men used sledge hammers to make two holes in the wall and get inside Graces Place Cafe in Madeira Drive.

PC James Breeds said the men loaded the safe into a van and drove off on Monday at about 00:45 BST.

Appealing for witnesses, he said there would have been significant noise and people nearby may have heard something.
