Whale Hill Primary pupils' dismay at missing Disney trip

Five children have spoken of their heartbreak after they were told their school trip to Disneyland was oversubscribed.

The group from Whale Hill Primary School in Eston had initially believed they were going on the Year 6 end of term trip, but, after having their names drawn out of a hat, they have been left behind with 22 other classmates who chose not to go.

Their parents said it was an outrage, but the school said families were informed there were only 49 places.

Speaking to BBC Tees, head teacher Melanie Mellor apologised but said places were limited.
