Teesside collector aims to show off invacars

A collection of once-popular motorised trikes intended to give disabled people greater independence could soon be going on show.

Invacars were one-person vehicles with a fibreglass shell designed for driving on the road.

In 2003 the cars were banned by the government over safety concerns and tens of thousands were crushed.

It is believed only a few hundred remain, but now a Teesside University lecturer is hoping to display his collection across the country.
