Concern over £800,000 care costs at Stockton children's home

A Teesside council has paid £800,000 in four months for the care of eight vulnerable youngsters at two care homes, the BBC has learned.

Some Stockton councillors have expressed alarm at the cash paid to a specialist company which manages the homes in the Hartburn area of the borough.

There are also concerns at the number of police call outs for alleged incidents of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage.

Look North's Stuart Whincup reports.
