People living in Wiltshire are being asked to give their views on the future of policing in the county.
Wiltshire Police Authority must reduce its £108m annual budget by £15m over the next four years due to government spending cuts.
A questionnaire has been published on the authority's website, external.
Its chairman Chris Hoare said: "We are committed to keeping officers on the streets and protecting the front line as far as possible."
"But we want people to give us their views and tell us what they value in their police service," he added.
Public meetings are due to take place over the next few weeks.
The consultation runs until 11 February next year.
