Ducks killed and injured at Salisbury allotments

A number of ducks and a chicken have been killed and other birds injured at allotments in Salisbury.

Police were called to the allotments in London Road just after 0900 GMT and also found damage to the birds' pens, other sheds and gardening equipment.

It is thought that the birds were hit with a blunt instrument.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "This cruel and mindless act has caused enormous distress." He asked anyone with information to contact them.
