Light aircraft crashes on take-off at airfield in Wiltshire

Two people suffered minor injuries when the light aircraft in which they were flying crashed in Wiltshire on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened on the runway at Old Sarum airfield as the microlight aircraft attempted to take off.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said a pilot and his instructor were taken to nearby Salisbury District Hospital, both with suspected fractured wrists.

It is the second crash to occur at the airfield in the last two months.

On 23 May, a light aircraft crashed into a field at a pig farm while trying to land at the airfield.
