People in four rural villages in Wiltshire are being asked to help the police thwart potential illegal raves before they happen.
Wiltshire Police wants residents to be on the lookout for signs of raves in the area.
Officers have asked to be told about late night traffic build-ups on roads around Tidworth, Ludgershall, Netheravon and Enford.
They also suggested watching out for people asking directions to woods.
"This is the season for raves and our area is regularly targeted by these thoughtless trespassers," said PC Michael Bayliss.
"With early information we can disrupt the rave organisers before they set up, move them on and prevent others from reaching the destination.
"The longer the time gap between their arrival and police intervention, the longer it takes to shift them, up to 36 hours in some cases."
