Councillors will decide on Tuesday whether to transfer the trusteeship over to the town council

An educational charity in Bradford-on-Avon could become the responsibility of the local town council in the future.

Wiltshire Council will decide on Tuesday whether to resign from its trustee role and hand it over to Bradford-on-Avon town council.

The Colonel William Llewellen Palmer Educational Charity (CLPEC) was set up in 1992 to support young people.

Officers have recommended the transfer as administering charities is not part of the council's business plan.

Since it was created, the charity has helped under-25s who have attended schools in the Bradford-on-Avon area to "improve the condition of their lives" by giving out grants for their education.
