Five hundred jobs at Honda's Swindon production plant

Japanese car manufacturer Honda is to create 500 new jobs at its production plant in Swindon.

The move comes after the firm invested £200m in the plant earlier this year to create a "global hub" for its new five-door Civic model - the Civic R.

A Honda spokesman said the firm is aiming to recruit 150 new production staff by the end of 2015 and a further 350 in 2016.

Successful applicants will be on fixed-term contracts of up to two years.
