Ofsted director 'no regrets' over Swindon's schools letter

Ofsted's South West director Bradley Simmons says he has "no regrets" publishing a letter which claimed children in Swindon were being failed by schools "at every level".

In the letter to Swindon Borough Council, head teachers and local MPs, the education inspector said the town's schools were a "cause for serious concern".

Swindon Borough Council said the claims were "overly harsh and indeed unfair" and "demotivating" for teachers.

Mr Simmons said that had not been his intention.
