The party's 71 TDs will gather in Leinster House to chose their new leader
Members of the Fianna Fail parliamentary party will meet in Dublin on Wednesday to elect a new leader.
The four candidates vying to succeed Brian Cowen are Micheal Martin, Brian Lenihan, Eamon O'Cuiv and Mary Hanafin.
Fianna Fail's 71 TDs will meet at 1400 GMT behind closed doors to choose the eighth leader of their party.
Brian Cowen announced he was stepping down as Fianna Fail leader on Saturday after a week of political turmoil.
The four candidates will each set out their vision on how to rebuild the party's fortunes and how to rekindle lost support.
Fianna Fail currently stands at 14% in the polls, down from 41% in the 2007 general election.
The new leader faces an uphill struggle to build the organisation and morale as the party faces annihilation in the forthcoming election.
The new Fianna Fail leader is expected to be known by late on Wednesday afternoon.
