Two women aged in their 90s and a man in his 80s were locked into a bedroom by burglars who ransacked their County Down home.
The pensioners are in shock but unhurt after their ordeal at a house in Kilcoo, police have said.
Three men forced their way into the house at Hilltown Road on Saturday at about 21:40 BST.
They closed the three elderly people into a downstairs room before ransacking the property.
It is not clear whether anything was stolen.
Police have appealed for information.
