A book of condolence for the victims of a gun attack at a Tunisian beach resort has opened in Belfast.

Three Irish people were among 38 who died in the shooting in Sousse on Friday.

The official number of Britons killed stands at 18 but is expected to rise to about 30.

The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Sinn Féin's Arder Carson, opened a book for tributes to the dead at Belfast City Hall.

County Westmeath couple Laurence (Larry) and Martina Hayes and Lorna Carty, from County Meath, were the three Irish people who were killed.

Meanwhile, a minute's silence is to be held around the UK on Friday 3 July at 12:00 BST to remember the victims.
