The smashed windows of one of the houses on Tirowen Drive
A man was hit three times by a Taser stun gun before he was arrested by police, a court has heard.
Jackie Kirkwood, 38, from Mersey Street in Belfast is accused of breaking into the home of a mother with a disabled child in the early hours of 24 July.
It is alleged he then went next door to the home of a pensioner who was away at the time, where he proceeded to smash windows.
Mr Kirkwood is charged with two counts of aggravated burglary.
A police officer told Lisburn Magistrates Court that the woman found Mr Kirkwood hiding beside the front door of her Tirowen Drive home in Lisburn.
The police officer also told the court that after breaking into the pensioner's home, Mr Kirkwood threw a chair through one of the windows and was witnessed shouting for his mother and saying "please don't shoot".
A defence solicitor said that Mr Kirkwood had become paranoid after taking an unknown substance at a party.
He said Mr Kirkwood, who has apologised for his actions, was stunned three times by police before he was arrested.
The judge refused bail due to what she called the accused's "terrible record".
She also said it was a bizarre incident and that he was probably under the influence of something.
Mr Kirkwood was remanded in custody until the 24 August.
