Police have cordoned off the flat in Dingwell Park where the man's body was discovered
The death of a man in Craigavon, County Armagh, is being treated as suspicious by police.
The man, who was in his 30s, was found dead in his ground floor flat at Dingwell Park in Taghnaven about lunchtime on Tuesday.
It is understood the man's body had been in the flat for a number of days and that his mother discovered him.
Detectives and forensic officers carried out tests at the scene.
Sinn Fein MLA John O'Dowd has described the incident as "a tragedy" and urged anyone with any information about what happened to take it to the police.
"This is a tragic event and it is still early in the police investigation on the circumstances surrounding this death," he said.
"Our thoughts must be with the family and friends of those affected.
"Everyone in the Taghnevan and wider community will be shocked by this death."

It is believed the man's body had been in the flat for a number of days.
His mother called at the house on Tuesday but could not get in and together with a neighbour forced entry.
They raised the alarm after discovering the body.
It is understood the man had a troubled history with convictions in the past for having a knife, assault and making threats to kill.
It is not, however, immediately clear how he died.
Dingwell flats have a notorious reputation and have been a magnet for anti-social behaviour.
Local residents groups have campaigned for some time to face them demolished.

Det Ch Insp Eamonn Corrigan said police were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death and appealed for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in Dingwell Park in recent days to contact them.
Police said a post-mortem examination would take place to determine the cause of his death.
