Lord Sewel announces resignation over drugs claims

Lord Sewel has resigned from the House of Lords after the release of footage which allegedly shows him taking drugs with prostitutes.

He said he wanted to apologise for the "pain and embarrassment I have caused".

Lord Sewel denies any criminal wrongdoing.
