Met Office warns of heavy thundery downpours across Scotland

The Met Office has issued yellow "be aware" warnings for localised heavy, thundery showers with a risk of hail across much of Scotland during Tuesday.

Only Grampian, Orkney and Shetland are not covered by the warnings which are in place from 14:00 to 21:00.

Commuters are being warned that torrential rain will increase the risk of flooding, making driving conditions difficult.
