A 56-year-old man has been arrested after firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition were found at a house in East Dunbartonshire.
Police, acting under warrant, searched the house in Hillside Terrace, Milton of Campsie at 07:00 on Tuesday.
The planned operation also saw searches at houses in the north of Glasgow, two business premises in the city centre and one in Stirling.
The man being held is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Det Insp David Perritt said: "This operation should drive home a clear message to anyone involved in this type of crime. It will not be tolerated by us.
"We are committed to keeping people safe and will be relentless in our approach to targeting any criminal activity involving firearms.
"I would urge the public to continue to support the police by reporting any suspicions about anyone they believe to be involved in firearms crime."
