Mr McGurk fell from the 14th floor of the flats in Glenavon Road, Maryhill
Two men have been cleared of attempted murder over an incident which saw a man survive a fall from the 14th floor of multi-storey flats in Glasgow.
John McGurk fell from the high-rise in Glenavon Road, Maryhill, in November, after allegedly being assaulted by Kenneth Wilson and Jamie Rodger.
He survived after crashing onto plywood before dropping onto a construction workers' safety net near the ground.
Mr Wilson and Mr Rodger were acquitted after prosecutors dropped the charge.
During the aborted trial, the High Court in Glasgow heard that 20-year-old Mr McGurk claimed he was assaulted and escaped onto the window sill outside the 14th-floor flat.
It was said he then lowered himself down and hung onto the ledge by his fingertips.
Mr McGurk claimed he could not recall what happened next - until he woke up in a hospital bed.
Serious injuries
It emerged Mr McGurk had fallen from the window seemingly plummeting to the ground.
He avoided death but sustained serious injuries after crashing onto plywood near the bottom of the high-rise - before dropping onto a safety net.
The jury did not hear the full extent of Mr McGurk's injuries but it is believed he suffered multiple broken bones and had a lengthy stay in hospital.
He was on crutches as he gave evidence at the court, more than six months after the incident.
Mr Wilson, 48, and Mr Rodger, 20, had faced a charge of attempted murder including an allegation that Mr McGurk was forced out the 14th-floor window leading to him falling.
They were both acquitted after prosecutors dropped the charge midway through the trial.
