Two men needed hospital treatment for serious injuries after they were assaulted on the street during a night out.

The men, aged 23 and 24, were walking on Bath Street in Glasgow after a night in the Kushion nightclub.

They had an argument with another group of people and both received a single punch during a fight.

They were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

One man remains in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to a serious head injury, after the incident at 03:30 on Saturday.

Both suspects are white men, aged between 20 and 25, and of slim build.

The first man was approximately 5ft 10in to 6ft tall and had short hair.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a red long-sleeved polo top and dark jeans.

The second suspect was approximately 6ft to 6ft 2in with dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured polo top.

The suspects ran east on Bath Street towards Blythswood Street after the assault.

Det Con Blair Duncan of Police Scotland said: "Bath Street was busy at the time of this incident as people were making their way home from the many bars and clubs in the area. We are analysing available CCTV and conducting local inquiries.

"I am appealing to members of the public who gave assistance to the injured men to please contact the police. I would also appeal to any members of the group who accompanied the described suspects and the suspected men themselves to also make contact.

"It may well be the case that the attackers don't know how serious their actions have been. This incident has left two men requiring hospital treatment, with one man remaining in hospital to receive treatment for a serious head injury."
