The man was attacked in a common close of flats in Carmichael Place, in the city's Battlefield area
Police investigating the stabbing of a take-away delivery driver in south Glasgow are treating the attack as attempted murder.
The 55-year-old was stabbed in a common close in Carmichael Place, in the city's Battlefield area, at about 21:40 on Wednesday.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition has been described as stable.
Police are studying CCTV footage and conducting door-to door inquiries.
Enquiries suggest he may have been attacked by two men seen in the area at the time.
They are described as white, in their mid-20s and wearing dark-coloured, hooded tops.
One is about 5ft, 10in tall of medium build. The other man is slightly taller with dark eyebrows and a square jaw.
Det Sgt John Stewart said: "There appears to be no motive for this attack and it's important we establish how the man came about his injuries.
"We are of course looking at CCTV images which may provide us with more detailed information, however I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch with us, if you saw anything you think was a little odd then please pass on your information to officers.
"I would like to assure members of the community that a significant amount of work is being undertaken in this investigation and additional police patrols will be in the area to provide reassurance to local residents. "
