The old Victoria Infirmary closed earlier this year when services transferred to the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
The former Victoria Infirmary campus in Glasgow is being put up for sale.
The hospital began treating patients at the site in Langside, on the south side of the city, in 1866.
It closed earlier this year when services migrated to the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Only one building on the 9.5 acre site - a two-storey administration block on the west side - is listed. That means most of the existing buildings could be demolished.
The site is being sold by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
'End of an era'
David Loudon, the health board's director of facilities, said: "The Victoria Infirmary has a proud medical history and a very special place in the heart of its former staff and the thousands of patients treated there since 1866.
"The marketing of the site for sale therefore represents the end of an era but also an exciting opportunity for this important site in the heart of Glasgow's south side to be redeveloped and become a vibrant part of the city once more."
Mr Loudon added: "There will of course be the opportunity for the community to fully engage in the planning process following the sale of the site.
"In the meantime, we are fully committed to keeping the community and other groups and individuals who are interested in the marketing and sale of the site fully informed."
