Lisa Watson did not claim benefit for her one real child
A woman who received £16,787 for 11 fictitious children has been put on two years probation and ordered to do 200 hours community service.
Lisa Watson, 28, from Alness, Easter Ross, had previously admitted making fraudulent claims to obtain working tax credits and child tax credits.
She pretended to HM Revenue and Customs that she had charge, care and financial responsibility for 11 children.
Watson did not claim anything for her one real child.
Some of the children made up by Watson were "born" just days apart.
She repaid some of the money using winnings from horse racing bets.
Watson appeared for sentencing before Sheriff Bill Taylor at Dingwall Sheriff Court.
