British Transport Police have launched an investigation into the theft of 100 new railway sleepers from a yard in Easter Ross.
The wooden sleepers, which were taken from near Tain railway station, have been valued at about £2,000.
Police said they were stolen sometime between 11 and 18 June.
PC Nicky Ritchie urged anyone offered sleepers for sale from an "unusual source" to contact British Transport Police.
