The injured man was found in Millburn Road close to the Morrisons filling station
A 52-year-old man has been found with serious head injuries near the centre of Inverness.
Members of the public came across the man in Millburn Road at about 01:20 on Sunday. He is being treated in the city's Raigmore Hospital.
Police said they have traced a Ford Fiesta which was the subject of an earlier appeal.
They did, however, renew their appeal for anyone who had information about the incident to contact them.
