A solicitor from Flintshire serving a four-year jail sentence for fraud has been ordered to pay more than £61,000.

Nicholas Jones, who is due to be released shortly, was given three months to pay or he would face another 14 months in prison.

His criminal benefit was said to be almost £150,000, Mold Crown Court heard.

Jones, who was based in Flint, was one of four people jailed for a mortgage fraud "of breathtaking proportions".

The prosecution said that the value of the fraud between 2003 and 2008 was anything between £15.5m and £24m.

At the time the judge said the crime had been "a gross breach of trust".
