The unit should make it easier for agencies to work with each other to protect vulnerable people

A new unit putting agencies protecting vulnerable children and adults from neglect and abuse together, under the same roof, is due to open.

The unit, at Pontypridd police station, serves the Cwm Taf health board area and includes police, nurses, probation officers and social workers.

It aims to make quicker and better decisions on abuse and neglect cases.

First Minister Carwyn Jones will launch the first Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub in Wales, on Thursday.
