Marine Le Pen fronts new right-wing European Parliament group

More than a year after the European elections, a new right-wing group opposed to the EU has emerged in the European Parliament, led by Marine Le Pen and the French National Front.

Introducing the new group, which will be known as Europe of Nations and Freedom, Ms Le Pen said the European Union was "destroying the nation".

However, some MEPs have condemned the group calling its formation a dark day for the EU.
