Some patients may have to go off island for treatment after an X-ray machine in Guernsey was put out of action.
The island's only fluoroscopy X-ray machine was removed from service after it failed an annual test. Officials have not said why it failed or what is wrong with it.
It is a specialist piece of equipment used in a variety of examinations include barium X-rays.
The Princess Elizabeth Hospital has been calling people with appointments.
Urgent patients may have to go off island for treatment, less urgent patients will be re-scheduled.
The Health and Social Services Department have begun the search for a new machine, funded as part of the £4m rolling radiology equipment replacement programme.
