Syria's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Walid Muallem addresses members at the UN General Assembly in New York.
The speech comes after Russia launched airstrikes in the country, which Russia claims is to target "terrorists".
The US says Russia is carrying out random strikes against the Syrian opposition.
