Music, chat and Isobel Campbell
Mark and Stuart present a feast of great music, plus singer and songwriter Isobel Campbell shares her ‘First, Last and Everything'.
Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.
Today, they are joined by singer and songwriter Isobell Campbell who shares her ‘First, Last and Everything’ - that’s her first record, the most recent one she's enjoyed and the record that means ‘everything’ to her. Isobel also chats about the reissue of two of her collaborative albums with Mark Lanegan.
Initially coming to prominence as part of Glasgow's beloved indie-pop band Belle & Sebastian, Isobel went on to release solo records, first under the name The Gentle Waves. She also went on to collaborate with singer, songwriter and former Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan on a series of acclaimed albums. Isobel tells Mark and Stuart more about working with Mark Lanegan and the forthcoming reissues.
Also on the show... long-running feature The Chain, which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8,800 songs.
With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
