It’s all to play for as the competition reaches a crucial stage. Petroc Trelawny presents highlights with judges Joanna MacGregor, Ben Gernon and Julian Bliss.
Presented by Petroc Trelawny, BBC Young Musician reaches the crucial quarter-final stage. Just eight musicians remain, and each are out to impress the judges and claim that all important place in the semi-final.
Star pianist and recording artist Joanna MacGregor and conductor and broadcaster Ben Gernon return to their seats on the judging panel. Joining them as guest judge is one of the world’s leading clarinettists, Julian Bliss. Having burst onto the classical music scene at a young age, he knows only too well how it feels to perform at the highest standard.
Filmed at Swansea University’s Great Hall, this programme features highlights from a thrilling quarter-final and features music by JS Bach, Prokofiev, Debussy and more.
With such talent on display, it’s not going to be an easy decision for the judges. Which five musicians will they decide to put through to the semi-final?
