Diwali Basket Brigade swings into action

Available for over a year

Hundreds of volunteers are coming together to pack thousands of hampers of donated food. They're part of the Diwali Basket Brigade and will be distributing their hampers through local charities and food hubs in Leicestershire and other targeted areas in the country. Last year, more than 600 volunteers from the organisation helped to pack 5,500 hampers and provide over 80,000 meals, and this year the team are hoping to beat that. Organiser Vina Parekh said it can make a huge difference to those struggling to make ends meet. Reporter: Ben Jackson
