Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy praised Willian's performance against Sheffield United on BBC Match of the Day: "I absolutely adore watching him play, as Fulham fans should enjoy every time he steps on the pitch. For a 35-year-old, he's quick and fit. He's desperately trying to do everything he can, when he's on the pitch, to create things and have an impact on games.

"He could have scored more. He plays on the left, he plays on the right. He's running with the ball, he's intelligent when he's got the ball. We know what he's been like over the years, he's been a wonderful player, but he doesn't look a 35-year-old.

"He's a spring chicken. I was at the game on Monday night [v Chelsea], there was a few moans and groans at him late in the game, but he wasn't actually getting the ball. You've got to give your creative flair players the ball to make the impact. You give Willian the ball and he will make things happen.

"I think he's been a really good bit of business in the past two seasons for Fulham. He got his rewards for a really great performance and, as long as he stays fit, anyone playing up front is going to get some service."
