We asked for your views of the appointment of Philippe Clement as Rangers manager, here's what some of you had to say:

Lewis: Clement was probably the pick of the candidates given his success in Belgium. But the long process will leave doubts if he doesn't start well, given the board appeared torn between him and Kevin Muscat. Promises football that will be better on the eye, however priority one is for the team to be more effective in attack and stop giving away avoidable goals.

Ronnie: Clement is as good an appointment as the club could make at this time. He has experience and success in Belgium and Monaco are not exactly European minnows. Unfortunately he inherits a poor squad with no confidence, but if he can get them playing the fans will get behind him 100%. Only one team to beat and everything to play for.

Colin: First and foremost we need to give him time and see what happens. We can’t keep sacking managers every six months.

Anon: I hope we kept our receipt for some of the new players that came in as they need to be returned as faulty. Tough job for the new manager, getting immediate results from the majority of the new guys.

Anon: Why appoint a manager that was sacked only months before Michael Beale when there is a manager still managing a club who want to keep him with the knowledge about the club and the way Scottish football works? I thought Muscat was a better choice.

Gary: Clement has a good record, let's hope he is the right choice. Rangers need to start getting things right off the park, on the park will follow when that happens. Best of luck, Philippe.
