Rangers' worries in front of goal

Rangers striker Sam Lammers has had a tough start to life in Glasgow, scoring just one league goal in eight appearances and struggling to nail down his best role.
The Dutchman has however taken 25 shots so far this season, the joint-highest in the Scottish Premiership, which might suggest that he is at least getting into good positions.
Delve a little further into the data though, and you see that is not really the case. Only eight of Lammers' shots have been on target, and his wayward shooting is part of a wider trend at Ibrox.
Part of the issue under Michael Beale was that Rangers took plenty of shots from positions that were unlikely to lead to goals, which is shown clearly in the numbers.
Rangers' conversion rate is just 8.72%, the seventh-best in the league. If they want to chase down league-leaders Celtic after the international break, they have to find their shooting boots, and prioritise quality over quantity when it comes to shots.
