Michail Antonio feels under pressure Manchester United players Harry Maguire and Andre Onana have "come alive" in recent matches.

Despite the 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City over the weekend, the West Ham forward still feels both players have stepped up in recent games to stop things being worse for the side.

Speaking on The Footballer's Football Podcast, Antonio said: "To be honest I'm buzzing for them [Maguire and Onana]. Onana has come in with a lot of pressure with De Gea going and his first few games in the first few weeks he's made some big mistakes, but in the last couple of weeks him and Maguire have come alive and I'm buzzing for them both.

"All the pressure that Harry has been put under over the last few years and the fact that he has stuck to his ground and stayed and now other injuries have given him his opportunity again and he's taken it. That's one thing as a professional footballer, it's about taking the opportunity when you are given it and he has taken it."

Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson agreed, adding: "I think I have said it all a long – Harry Maguire is a top player.

"Having played with him and trained with him you can see his qualities. I believe that has been his biggest strength this whole time because he has had to grow, endure a lot of backlash, a lot of negativity about him being a footballer and it just shows - don't let adversity get to you and you can overcome it.

"I'm buzzing for him because he's back playing doing what he should have been doing all along and people are starting to appreciate what he brings to the team now."
