Danilo 'was the full package' - McCulloch

Former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch says that Danilo looked “the full package” as he helped Philippe Clement's side to a 2-1 win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

The Brazilian striker opened the scoring, before setting up Todd Cantwell to double Rangers' lead, and McCulloch was impressed by his all-round performance.

“Danilo took his goal with great composure - it was a great finish," McCulloch said.

“The thing that impressed me the most was his work rate, his work ethic, his link up play, he’s got a desire to go and work hard, to work the defenders and to not give them any time on the ball.

“The other side of that, his touch, his runs, he was coming short, he was causing defenders all sorts of problems.

“He was coming short and spinning long, he was pretending to spin long and come short and linking it, he had a one-touch lay-off to Sam Lammers.

“He was the full package and that’s the best I’ve seen a Rangers team for a while, especially in the first-half.

“That’s the best I’ve seen Danilo as a whole, as a package, if he keeps going the way he’s going he looks as if he’s going to be a tremendous signing for the club.”
