Pep Guardiola said Andoni Iraola is "an incredible, well-respected" manager and praised Bournemouth's style of play.

The Manchester City boss managed Barcelona to three Copa del Rey wins over Athletic Bilbao when Iraola was a player there and believes he has developed into one of the game's most promising young managers.

Guardiola also expects a Cherries side full of confidence after their first Premier League win of the season over Burnley last Saturday, despite the midweek defeat by Liverpool.

"After a win there always is confidence," he said Guardiola. "They competed really well against Liverpool. Andoni is an incredible, well-respected manager in Spain and did an incredible job in Rayo Vallecano.

"[Bournemouth are] playing offensive and attractive football. What I see is an alive team. It’s a team with good sprit, not set back, and of course the result gives confidence and when you don’t have it, you can’t produce that.

"In Spain he is one of the youngest managers that has a better future - and training in the Premier League is an incredible success for him."
