As they head into the international sabbatical Dundee’s break will be longer than anticipated – and longer than they would have wanted – after their weekend Premiership visit of Ross County was washed out by the weather.
However, they can reflect on some decent form, having lost just one of their last five league games.
No one at Dens Park will be taking anything for granted because despite their encouraging showing in the early stages of the campaign, Tony Docherty’s side are just three points off the foot of the table.
Priority number one after the restart will be to try and haul themselves away from the Premiership basement as quickly as they can.
There has been plenty happening at the club both on and off the park.
The club’s owners recently purchased Dens Park from local businessman John Bennett and are pressing on with moves to build a new stadium.
It is performances on the pitch that determines the feelgood factor at any club. And it is a case of so far so good as the team continues to impress after stepping up from the second tier.
Docherty and Co will be looking to make sure it sticks around by continuing to deliver performances, and more importantly points, over the coming weeks and months.
