Former Newcastle forward Alan Shearer has been analysing Bournemouth's first win of the 2023-24 Premier League season on Match of the Day: "Andoni Iraola said when he came in that he wanted to get more balls in the box, more crosses, and he wanted to play a more pressing style. That certainly happened [against Burnley] and it worked for them.

"At every opportunity, particularly when they got out wide, they looked to get early balls and quality balls in. That's what they were trying to do - one touch and get it in there.

"They also set up pressing because you know against this Burnley side if you get it right, then you will get a bit of joy. They win the ball up high, they are then through on goal, and it just takes a really good finish.

"[The goals] were fantastic finishes but it all comes from the press because Burnley are not very good at that and they give you chances."
