Teenage forward Josh Landers has signed a new three-year deal with Hibernian just over a week after making his first-team debut.
The 16-year-old, who joined the club’s academy aged 10, impressed manager Nick Montgomery enough to be thrown on as a late substitute as Hibs chased an equaliser in their Viaplay Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen.
The Scotland Under-16 international featured again in the following match at St Mirren last Wednesday and has now been rewarded with a contract until 2026.
Academy director Gareth Evans told Hibernian’s website, external: “We’re all delighted for Josh. I’m sure this is a very proud moment for him and his family.
“It’s always great to see a young player progress through the academy age groups and make their debut for the first team.
“The real challenge for Josh now is to keep that hunger and desire to develop and to push for more opportunities with the first-team set-up.”
